Equifax Credit Score
There are three main Nationwide Consumer Reporting Organizations that is EquiFax, TransUnion and Experian. Each of these nationwide consumer credit scoring provides you with distinctive credit score format but in actual the information in these reports is almost the same. You can request free credit score per year.
Who is Equifax?
Equifax compiles credit scoring data from many sources and creates a credit file that reflects your personal credit history including your FICO score.
You can request a free credit score from Equifax. Upon your request, you will find the following information in it.
Personal information
In the personal information section, the following information is included.
Name
Social Security Number or (SSN)
Former Names
Date of Birth
Death information
Previous Address
Current Address
Identification numbers
Any employers
Any cases against the credit score
Summarized Account Information
This segment is divided into two parts:
1. The inquiries that do not affect your credit score and thus not provided to the companies.
2. The inquiries that do affect your credit score and also provided to the companies.
The first types of inquiries are those which are rated by existing creditors for the pre-approved credit lines. These do not affect your credit score.
The second type of inquiries are actually rated by the potential creditors for extension of your line of credit and may affect the credit score but they have the minimal affect so they should not be considered much until and unless there are any red flags.
This information is only provided to those companies who request for the credit score.
Public Records
Public records section includes all information regarding bankruptcies federal judgment, country court records or any particular case. The main information of any case includes case number, type of record, default amount and so on.
Here are some of the credit score terms that may help you
CHARGEOFF – loss on unpaid balance
INACTIVE – inactive account
COLLECT – the collection assigned due to wrong account
PAID – inactive, $0 balance and paid off account.
